The technology transfer office at BITS Pilani is the nodal point for managing and protecting the intellectual property of BITS Pilani, across all campuses. The technology transfer office facilitates the commercialisation of existing intellectual properties though various modes including patenting, licensing and industry collaboration.
The Technology Transfer Office at BITS Pilani is entrusted with the following responsibilities:
- Identify potential Technology Transfer Activities and Intellectual Property issues relating to innovations, scientific discoveries and inventions
- Capitalize on the Innovations made having potential for commercial ventures
- Advise and Facilitate the Faculty in understanding relevant intellectual property and technology transfer issues, including developing and interpreting policy
- Represent the Institutes interest in intellectual property and technology transfer to external organizations.

The Technology Transfer Office at BITS Pilani is spearheaded by a dedicated Technology Transfer Officer who is enstrusted with managing, encouraging, and supporting the development, disclosure, and protection of the Institute’s intellectual property. Technology transfer officer is also the the nodal point of contact for reviewing proposals, ensuring adequate documentation and compliance with applicable laws and policies related to intellectual property, technology transfer, and applications for patents, etc.
