  • SERB-DST project Entitled, “ Design and development of crop residue-based roof insulation with Phase Change Materials for livestock rearing shelters: An environment-friendly business model for doubling farmer women’s income in Arid and Semi-Arid zones, worth Rs.40 Lakhs is sanctioned during January 2023.
 

Currently Running Projects:

1)   1)     Doubling Farm Women's income: Entrepreneurship development through post-harvest and technology integration in arid zone submitted with CAZRI, Jodhpur to DST under ASAR SEED division has received funding of Rs.2.37 Crores. (BITS-Share Rs.70 Lakhs). (I am one of the Co PIs of the project to work on solar drying of Pearl Millet to improve shelf life)  PI: Prof. Srikanta Routroy.

 

2  2) “High Impact Class room Teaching using Industrial case studies”, funded by TLC, BITS-Pilani 10 January  2021. (Rs.50,000/-) Phase-I of the project is completed.

 

Project Submitted for funding:

 

“Conceptualizing, Sizing, Materials Selection, steady state and transient performance of pre cooler for Advanced high Mach aero engines” Submitted to RSQR program of DRDO to Gas Turbine Research Establishment. (PI: Prof. Chennu Ranganayakalu). Date: 26 July 2021. Project Cost: Rs.16.63 Lakhs

 

“Design and development of Perforated Plate Heat Exchanger(PPHE) for cooling of gaseous Helium by using liquid Hydrogen” Yukti-Sanchita scheme of ISRO in collaboration with MNIT, Jaipur. ( PI: Prof.Chennu and  Co PI; Dr.Amit from MNIT). Date: 20 July 2021, Project Cost: Rs.13.54 Lakhs.

 

“Development of Thermal Conditioning unit (TCU)” Yukti-Sanchita scheme of ISRO in collaboration with Industry. PI: Dr. Aneesh, Co PI: Prof. Chennu , Date: 20 July 2021 Project Cost: Rs.18.00 Lakhs

 

“Development of two-phase flow heat transfer devices: Flexible Heat Pipe for Space Application” Yukti-Sanchita scheme of ISRO in collaboration with VNIT, Nagpur. Date: 30 May 2021. Project Cost: Rs.12.96

“Thermal Energy Storage System Using Solar Parabolic Trough for Spatial Heating application in cold and composite region of India”, National Innovation Challenge for Design and Developing energy storage system for rural household /Establishment, DST, India. Applied on 31 December 2020.

“Development of renewable energy controlled and IoT based onion supply chain integrated with optimized logistics operations for enhancing farmers’ income”, Applied under NASF Under Indian Council of agricultural research as one of the Co PI for Rs.345 lakhs in collaboration with NIT, Surat and KVK. Rajasthan. (PI Prof. Srikanta Routroy). 31 August 2020.

“Development of 3D Numerical Heat Transfer Model with Growth of Oxide and Design of Control Algorithm for Walking Beam Reheat Furnaces” - Invited for presentation by the ministry of steel for funding on 08/08/2018. (Presented for possible funding from DST, after the presentation the authorities asked us to share the account details, Results awaited).PI: Dr. Satish Kumar Dubey. (Results Awaited). Rs.29 Lakhs.

“Thermal and Life Cycle Assessment of AlSi12 based Thermal Energy Storage System for Concentrated Solar Power Plants” - Submitted to DST under the scheme of Technology Mission Division on 30/06/2018. (Results Awaited).Rs.32 Lakhs (Under consideration).

“Economic and Environmental Impact Assessment of Future Technological Changes and Retrofitting the pollution control equipment in Indian coal based Thermal Power Plants using Impact pathway approach and external cost” - Submitted to DST under CHORD(NSTMIS) scheme on 31/03/2019. (Results Awaited). Rs.32 Lakhs (Under Consideration)

“Fault detection and diagnosis of roof top HVAC units”- A technical consultancy project was presented to Johnson Controls, at Techno Connect meet on invitation during 28-29 May 2019. (Results Awaited)

"Estimation of Gas Emission and External costs of Coal-fired Power plants in India" Submitted to DST under CHORD(NSTMIS) Scheme as a Co PI along with Dr. Krishna. M on 31/03/2019.

"Increasing the Thermal efficiency of Organic solar cell using PV/T system". Proposal was sent to Hiroshima University after the visit during 2018. (Waiting for the response from the University).

 

Completed:

1)   Industrial consultancy project to increase percentage of Yield of casting for ABG completed. 2013. (PI: Prof.Dasgupta)
