Title : Development of Dielectric Resonator based Displacement Sensor
Sponsoring agency : Science and Engineering Research Board (DST-SERB)
Role : Principal Investigator
Duration : 3 years (14/09/2018 to 13/03/2022)
Amount : INR 20.75 lakhs 
  
3. Unfortunate Rejections !
(i) Development of a Dielectric Resonator Antenna for Body worn applications (DRDO, dos : March 2016 for INR 33.53 lakhs, submitted as PI)
Status: Technical review clearned,and recommended for financial sanction. But never sanctioned !
 
(ii) Development of a COPD monitoring Platform (GlobaStarts-DBT India call, dos: 30 November 2020, INR 94 lakhs for Indian component, submitted as Indian-PI)
Project partners: India - BITS Pilani and VA Networks, Europe - Uppsala university (Sweden), Evelan, Probingon.
Status: Shortlisted for interview and the verdict was that "application was not prioritized sufficiently high to be considered for support" as,
  • The proposal is not addressing the problem of COPD in depth.
  • The innovation component is very minimal in the proposal.                             
  • There is no clear hypothesis in the proposal that drives this work.                   
  • Currently, this proposal is a collection of technologies and engineering methods that ideally should be driven by clinical needs, knowledge and expertise. It is very surprising that PIs have completely ignored this in the proposal.
