Prof. Devika has been teaching in Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, since 2001. She teaches courses to undergraduate and postgraduate students. The courses taught are English Language Skills I and II, Critical Analysis of Literature and Cinema, Technical Report Writing, Creative Writing, Language Lab Practice, Growth of English Language, Applied Linguistics, Interpretations of Literature, Twentieth Century Literature, and Technical Communication. She has taught online collaborative course English Language Skills for Pan e-African Network.

She has to her credit notes written for courses like Technical Report Writing and English Language Skills. 

In her research area, she has done her PhD in feminism and her articles are in the area of feminism, literature, English Language Teaching and Cinema. She has 44 publications comprising book chapters and articles in international and national journals apart from 25 other publications. She is also the editor for Musings: an anthology of poems, short stories, one act plays and paintings.

She has conducted workshops for administrators, teachers, students, and supporting staff in the area of communication skills, nonverbal communication, group discussion, personality development, soft skills, job interviews, effective communication strategies, common errors in English, and teaching methodology. 

She has been teaching GRE, TOEFL and Communication Skills courses for the students of BITS Pilani.
