The Institute

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani is an all-India Institution declared as deemed to be university established under section 3 of the UGC act. The Institute started as a small “Pathshala” in Pilani way back in the year 1901, blossomed into a set of colleges for higher education, ranging from the Humanities to Engineering. Today it is best private university in the country with campuses in Pilani, Dubai, Goa and Hyderabad. The Institute attaches great importance to University-Industry linkages and gives a thrust to it through Practice School, Technology Innovative Center, Off-Campus Work Integrated Learning and Collaborative Programs.
