Project Title Development of a flow solver for simulating compressible flows with phase change
Project Description In this project, we plan to develop a flow solver for simulating compressible two-phase flows with phase change. The intended application in mind is the fluid flow, heat transfer and phase change phenomenon inside heat pipes which are able to handle large values of heat flux. For this purpose, we plan to use the open source flow solver Basilisk, please check the link: https://basilisk.fr/ The basilisk flow solver is based on C programming language, the software is designed for ease of use. The user can focus of flow physics rather than too much focus on programming. The expected background of the student is Mechanical engineering with a course on Fluid Mechanics. Interested students can contact the faculty for any clarifications. Best wishes
