Dr. Shashank Gupta is a Senior Member, IEEE and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Information Systems, Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, Pilani Campus since 2017. He is currently the DRC Convener and an active member of Disruptive Technologies (DT) Lab. He has received his PhD from National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, Haryana in 2017, M.Tech. (CSE) from Central University of Rajasthan in 2012 and B.E (IT) from University of Pune in 2009. 

His research interest specializes in the areas of AI/ML in Privacy and Security, Internet of Things (IoT), Edge Computing, Internet of Vehicles (IoVs) and some related applications of Cyber Physical Systems (CPS). He has recently contributed his research work in the related areas of HTML5 injection attacks, Intelligent Transportation Systems, some related applications of inter-disciplinary Cyber-physical systems, etc. He has published numerous research articles in various top tier conferences and journals such as Future Generation Computer Systems (FGCS), Elsevier, Sustainable Cities and Societies, Elsevier, Journal of Network and Computer Applications (JNCA), Adhoc Networks, Elsevier, NSS, Globecom, ICC, FIPS, WOWMOM, etc. In addition, he is a part of program/review committee of various top-tier conferences, transactions and journals, and also served as PI/Co-PI for numerous sponsored research grants. He has also filed a few patents related to web security.
