Prof Arya Kumar did his M.A.(Hons ) in Economics, an Integrated Five Year Programme from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani in First class First (Rank) in 1977 and  PhD from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani in the year 1982 in the area of “Financial Management of Higher Education in India”. He has a diversified experience for more than 40 years of serving in educational institutions, research organizations, Banks and Financial Institutions. He is presently Professor and Dean Alumni Relations at BITS, Pilani. Prior to this he served as Director between 2014 -2016 at Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management New Delhi. 

 

Between 2005 and 2014, he served in multiple roles such as Chief Entrepreneurship Development and Intellectual Property Rights (Jan2007 and November 2014), Group Leader Economics & Finance Department (December 2004 and July 2010) and Dean Student Welfare Division (September 2011 and November 2014). He is actively involved with the activities of Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at BITS, Pilani. He is serving as an expert member in Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), DBT, Govt. of India; Faculty Advisor in the NEN Faculty Advisory Board for the past 10 years. He is on the Board of studies of NIIT University and BML Munjal University and had served as Governing Board Member of institutions like LBSIM and LBSITM etc. He has successfully done Entrepreneurship Educators Course (EEC) awarded by STVP, Stanford University, IIM Bangalore and National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) and became one amongst the first 20 certified Entrepreneurship Educators in India and has been awarded Goldman Sach 10000 Women awards certification Honours for participating in the mentor development program organised by London Business School and National Entrepreneurship Network.
